INTERMEDIATE ABACUS PROGRAM
(Level 5 to 6)

Strengthening Speed, Accuracy, and Confident Thinking

The Intermediate Abacus Program (Level 5 & 6) at Think Abac is designed for children who already have a basic understanding of numbers and are ready to move forward with greater confidence. This stage focuses on helping children think faster, calculate accurately, and apply logic independently, while maintaining clarity in every step.

At this level, children begin to handle larger numbers and more complex operations. Our teaching approach ensures that speed develops naturally from understanding, without pressure or rote learning.

Who Is This Program For?

The Intermediate Abacus Program is ideal for children aged 7 to 9 years.

This program is suitable for children who:

  • Have completed basic abacus levels or show readiness

  • Understand basic addition and subtraction

  • Are comfortable with numbers and eager to improve speed

  • Need stronger focus, memory, and confidence in calculations

At this age, children are capable of applying logic more independently, making it the right time to strengthen mental calculation skills.

What Children Learn in This Program?

In the Intermediate Abacus Program, children move beyond basic calculations and begin working with larger numbers and structured operations. They learn advanced addition and subtraction involving multi-digit numbers, followed by the introduction of multiplication and division using clear, step-by-step abacus techniques.

Children are also introduced to decimal calculations and number complements, which improve their flexibility in handling different types of problems. Regular practice through mental maths activities, speed writing, oral sums, and listening-based exercises helps reinforce learning and build confidence.

Worksheets and guided practice sessions ensure that concepts are not only learned but also applied accurately and consistently.
